Dangers of bad association

Due to bad association, the living entity desires material happiness, liberation or merging into the impersonal aspect of the Lord, or he engages in mystic yoga for material power. If such a person actually becomes intelligent, he takes to Krishna consciousness by engaging himself in intense devotional service to Lord Sri Krishna.

Black Magic Remedies

  • Give some money (any amount)to the person who is performing black magic on you. If the person does not accept the money, drop a coin in his/her pocket, etc. Doing this will break the spell.
  • Put separate lockets of durga/kalimaa and hanumanji
  • Read hanuman chalisa/bajrang baan daily
  • keep a photo of hanumanji and light dhoop sticks on it

Test of a devotee

Sometimes Krsna may put us into some difficulty just to purify us and force us to advance in Krsna consciousness.

The devotee should always see his difficulty in this light, that Krsna is so kind upon me for creating this condition of struggling, thus He is relieving me of so many billions of lifetime of sinful reactions by this very insignificant and temporary condition of suffering something.

- Srila Prabhupada, Letter to: Vaikunthanatha -- Bombay 29 December, 1972

Why even nice and polite people taken for granted?

Such people are considered weak by the others and therefore taken advantage of. Such bad people will definitely suffer for their behaviour. But one must not pay too much attention for this behaviour. Always keep good intentions for others, radiate love all around and leave it for krsna to deal with it.
There is a saying "people may be unkind, just be kind, they may cheat u, just be honest. They may forget your good deeds, just do good. In the end, its between U and God, not U and People...."

Remnants of foodstuff given to the Lord

“If you engage your tongue in the service of the Lord, then you realize God realization. So what is that tongue engagement? The tongue engagement is you chant the holy name of the Lord, and you take the prasadam, remnants of foodstuff given to the Lord. Then you become self-realized, God realized.”

Is pilgrimage a medium to reach to God?

Self discovery -Who am I?

Mood while Chanting

The mood of chanting the holy name combines the actions of mind and heart-namely thinking and feeling. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu advised all devotees to be free from false ego, and to think oneself lower than a blade of grass. With feelings of deep submission and surrender one should beg Sri Radha for service. Haridasa Swami, a medieval saint of Vrndavana, wrote wonderful vraja-bhasa songs in praise of his Lord Bankibihari. Whenever he sang one of his compositions, all the trees, birds and forest animals would become completely captivated. Similarly, you must learn to chant Krsna's names with so much devotion and sweetness that the birds stop chirping to listen to your chanting; the deer gather around to gaze at you with tear-filled eyes; and the trees bend over to touch you with their leaves, being so moved by the sweet sound of nama.

Attainment of Moksha

Faith in God

If God immediately responds to your prayers, this means he is trying to develop His faith in you.
If He delays the process, it means He wants you to develop your patience.
If He actually does not respond at all, He knows you are capable enough to handle the problems on your own.

Keeping Bird inside a Cage Vibrates Negative Energy - vaastu

Do not keep a bird inside the cage as it vibrates negative energy inside the house and kills the ambitions of the members of the household. Rather, you can hang a bird house on the trees inside your house and if a bird builds a nest in that house, it is considered auspicious and leads to the prosperity and fame of all the members.

Ways to Reduce Negative Influence of Planets in your Horoscope

The position of the planets and stars in our horoscope influence our lives to a great extent. This is an interesting piece of information that I recently came across and would like to share with all. It is quite possible for us to reduce the bad effect of planets in our horoscope by practising these simple things in life. Giving respect and showering love to different members of family can do wonders.

  1. Saturn (शनि ) : Respect your elders
  2. Surya (सूर्या): Father
  3. Moon (चंद्र): Mother
  4. Mars (मंगल) : Brothers
  5. Mercury (बुध): Sisters
  6. Jupiter (गुरु/ब्रहस्पति ) : Guru or mentor
  7. Venus (शुक्र): Wife
  8. Rahu (राहु) : Animals
  9. Ketu (केतु): Helpless and crippled

Vaastu for Toilets

The ideal place would be in the north-west of the house.Though the toilet and bathrooms should always be situated separately but in modern houses, we find combined toilets and bathrooms. So if that is the case, preferably have it in the north-west or south-east of the room / house.

Some points to remember:

  • Never have a toilet in the north-east direction (also known as the Ishaan angle, the place of Kuber and Indra) as it will drain away the finances from the house. Also having one in the south-west will spoil the health of the head of the house.
  • While sitting on the toilet seat, one should be facing North or South.

Position of Clock in Vaastu

Most of the facts that I share with everyone on this blog are actually ones which I have tried and tested on myself and this being one of them.

If you are amongst the one who feels that there are too many things you have to do but time is running like what and that you are not able to keep pace with the time. Now, this could be because of the position of the clock in your house.A clock should never be placed on the Southern wall. Preferably place it on the northern wall and see the results for yourself!!!

Also keep in mind that the clock should not be placed exactly in front of the main door as it drives away the fortune.

GOD - The Biggest Treasure of Life

You often come across beggars on crossings who, though healthy, are begging for food and clothing. And even when you ask them to work for you in exchange for money, they refuse to do so.
Now what do you feel you are? You are nothing more than a beggar demanding for material things in life – a wife from husband, children from parents, and even from God. What we are not aware of is the fact that we have the greatest treasure of life with us, the Divine, to whom we are not trying to reach out to. If you stop reaching for material things and just try to please the Almighty, you will get biggest happiness in your life.

Tulsi & Hindu Mythology

Among other plants grown in the houses of Hindu families, the basil plant, also known as Tulsi, holds a great importance. There are basically two types of Tulsi plants available, the light green Shri or Rama Tulsi and the dark red Krishna or Shyama or Manjari Tulsi.
It is so believed that Tulsi is very close to the heart of Lord Vishnu. For this reason, we find that whenever lord Vishnu is worshipped, the leaves of Tulsi are always offered to the Lord. The Lord’s pooja is said to be incomplete without the offerings of Tulsi. The Lord embellishes himself with the garland of Tulsi and its leaves are also placed at the lotus feet of the Lord.
In Hindu mythology, there are many stories associated with Tulsi. It is so believed that an impoverished woman, Tulsi, was indicted with charges of being unfaithful. When she was not accepted by anyone in society, she approached Lord Vishnu for help. But there also, Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu, did not allow her to enter the Vaikunthadham. But Tulsi did not lose hope and while waiting for the Lord in His courtyard for many days, she took the form of a plant (her arms turned into leaves and her feet into roots). Lord Vishnu was so pleased with her devotion that He asked her to be treated with respect as a consort. But as Laksmiji was quite envious of her, Tulsi has fetched a place for herself in the courtyard of a house.
The marriage of Tulsi with Lord Vishnu takes place every year in the month of Kartika according to the lunar calendar. For this reason, this month marks the beginning of marriage season in India. Performing the marriage of Tulsi with Shalagrama Stone, considered a depiction of Lord Vishnu, is considered commendable as it is equivalent to performing a kanyadaan.
The leaves of Tulsi are not offered to Lord Shiva but tulsi leaves offered to a Shaligram may be offered to Lord Shiva as Shiva is a devotee of Lord Vishnu.
The meaning of word Tulsi is 'incomparable one' and the plant indeed has such medicinal properties which are incomparable with other herbs. Having anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic properties, the plant is used as a cure for many diseases like cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, kidney stones, heart disorders, skin disorders, teeth disorders, mouth infections, headaches, etc.

In Search of Happiness

To many of us the meaning of happiness is money, we call it Lakshmi. But Lakshmi dwells in a place where there is peace, happiness, and love amongst the members of the family. When there is a peaceful environment at home, you find the heaven even on earth.
Running after material happiness is good but that is not the key to happiness. Real peace and contentment in life can come only when you spread your wings to reach out to the Divine.

Devoted to my lord

I am a devotee of Lord Krishna and He was the first one to come to my mind when I thought of publishing the first post on my blog. There could be nothing much better to express my love and devotion for Him. Hare Krishna!!!
